I overheard information I probably shouldn’t have and kept it to myself. AITAH?

I was sick and my wife wasn’t so I was isolating in our guest room. She had friends over in another part of the house where one of them revealed personal information that I overhear. I wasn’t trying to listen in, but I also couldn’t move to a different location.

Now here is where I may have messed up. I kept the fact that I had overheard her friend’s personal information a secret since I wasn’t supposed to know, and I figured if I play dumb it would be the most respectful for both parties.

Another mistake since I didn’t realize this would be a big deal. After her friend told me the personal information I let my wife know that I knew, but played dumb to keep a secret.

My wife thinks I lied to her and it would’ve been more respectful had I come clean after I overheard the information while I was sick. I feel like I would’ve been the bad guy in her eyes either way, and out of respect for the friend (since ultimately it was their information to share), played dumb when my wife mentioned friend related things to me.
