This event is not fun
Honestly HH, you really need to work on quality control and making good, fun events for *all* players, not just whales. Even normal players give you multiple ads of revenue each day - up to 40 ads *per day* in the event alone. They shouldn't be penalized for not buying packs.
So, how is this event not fun? Have a list!
- Missions require manual tapping to complete - Missions impossible without researcher that is multiple ranks away - Few scripted capsule rewards - BAD scripted capsule rewards
### Missions Need Manual Tapping The last few new events seem to have more manual tapping required, which I don't really get. It's an automation game. I can see a little tapping to either get a few of the new resource, or a couple crits worth into the previous resource, but this event has multiple missions that require not only huge comrade investment to even get close to, but also *many* crits of the next tier to clear. Is it fun to tap, wait 20 minutes, and see you didn't crit? Then have to tap again, and wait, and be disappointed and tap and waitandbedisappointed ndtpndwaitndisappointndtpwatdisapp... I've had runs of 5+ non-crit taps at *60%* crit chance. NOT FUN.
### Missions impossible There are many missions which will take *days* to complete without having a new researcher. That researcher isn't available for two ranks. It's not fun to log in and see the same mission there with no progress, and know there is no hope of making progress for days.
### Few Scripted Capsules Scripted capsules can act as bad luck protection to ensure that players get enough to feel like they *can* progress, and in doing so, have fun, and maybe feel incentivized to spend money. In this event, there are *huge* gaps where a player can fail to get a necessary researcher, and be completely stuck because of it. It sure is "fun" to see the same 3 missions for days, all because you haven't been able to get the one card that can automate something!
### Bad Scripted Capsules The scripted capsules all contain ~3 of a single card, a pittance of science and some trophies. That's it, even at higher levels when typically capsules come with 40+ cards. This seems someone made a placeholder "this rank needs some of this researcher" scripting, then it made it through QC to live. How "fun" to finally complete a mission after hours or days, and get 3 cards. Just happened to me at rank 21. 3 cards? Seriously?
### Suggested fixes A lot of this boils down to QC. You must have tools to simulate the event, so make sure that even in cases of bad RNG, a mission can still be completed in ~1.5 days. That way the player will at least feel like they are making progress.
Make scripted capsules worth it, and have one for every new researcher. Yes, every single new researcher needs a scripted capsule.
Implement bad luck protection in *all* capsules. New card didn't appear in this capsule? Give it a higher chance in the next one, and the next until it does appear. Getting new cards is fun, waiting multiple ranks to get a researcher is not.
In closing, there is a lot that could be done to make the game and events more fun for normal players. It doesn't even mean "You have to let normal players beat the event". However, there needs to be a smooth progression curve, and visible progress, or else any fun is gone.
