AITA - for not letting my son to go out with friends

Hi guys just looking for opinions.

My 16 yrs old son, wants to go to San Antonio with a group of friends. They are all around 16-17 yrs old, they are planning driving to six flags from Houston.

It’s not that I don’t trust him, or that he will be doing anything wrong but the driving is what get me nervous. I am not sure if the other guys have drove that far, or if they even know how to change a tire.

To keep it short, now my son is mad and cursing which I get it and I don’t mind. What keeps in my mind is if I’m preventing him to have this experience with their friends.
