Best non-rooted screen mirroring apps for Android Auto on Pixel 9a?

I currently use AAAD to run CarStream for YouTube and Plex, which works great. However, I’m looking for a way to mirror my phone screen entirely. Mostly trying to get MyQ on my Honda CR-V since I do not wish to pay to have an app on my car's OSD when the phone app is entirely free.

I’ve tried apps like AAStream and AAMirror. They load up and show my phone’s app drawer on the car display, but as soon as I tap on an app to open it, the car display just goes black.

Is full screen mirroring possible on a non-rooted Pixel 9a using Android Auto, or is rooting the only way to get around the black screen issue?
