What’s your motivation?

I’ll preface this by saying this game has been some of the most fun I’ve had gaming both with friends and by myself in a long time. The online interactions are comedy, the gameplay loop feels unique, and the game itself looks & runs like a dream. Shoutout embark.

That being said, I had a feeling when I started that my motivation to continue playing would fall off hard at some point. Once I maxed my workbenches, it was fun going in with expensive loadouts and hunt big arc or go heavy on PvP.

120+ hours in, I’ve hit that point where I feel like there’s just nothing left to do. Killing the queen was a solid goal (and damn was that frustrating dealing with other players) but I did it, got my achievement, and now I’m struggling to figure out what my purpose can be.

I understand games don’t necessarily need to have infinite replayability, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to this point in the game. But, because I enjoyed the ride so much, I’m hungry for more and would love to see Embark add more content for the late game/for the players who’ve put the time in to get through most of the content offered.

There’s a lot of discussion around *small* things embark can change, QoL changes here and there. Which, I mostly agree with. Easier loadout creation, better UIs, bug fixes, more consistent events, etc. But, what about new game modes entirely?

TL;DR: now that the game has been out for a while, what’s your motivation to keep playing? What playstyles do you feel you can keep running for a long time? Also, what do you think Embark can add to bring you back or keep you hooked?
