Loss Harvesting with VXUS

Maybe other people are in the same boat - bought some VXUS recently, thinking about selling and buying something very similar to offset some other gains. Any recommendations for what works best? Holding it in a taxable Vanguard brokerage account. Also hold some VXUS equivalent in retirement through target date funds, is that something that needs to be considered?
