[iPad] ChatGPT Hangs When Opening and Runs Out of Memory

**10/23 Edit:** A recent update seems to have really improved things. I haven't had *ChatGPT* run out of memory lately. I also archived my truckload of chats while I was at it, but that didn't seem to help until the update happened. Ah, well.

For the last week or so, the official *ChatGPT* app hasn’t been opening normally. It just hangs on the Dark Mode logo instead of loading.

I've found that switching to another app and then returning, or opening the app switcher (double-tapping the Home button), seems to get it unstuck temporarily. However, the problem keeps coming back.

There's also an apparent memory issue. If I open another app on my iPad, *ChatGPT* seems to run out of memory, get suspended in the background, and then go through the same startup routine all over again when I return to it.

"Refresh Background App" is enabled for the app, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck. It's getting pretty frustrating, especially since this seems to have started only recently.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues with the official *ChatGPT* app on iPad? I'm curious whether this is a general app issue or something specific to my device — an iPad 7th Generation running iPadOS 18.7.10.
