Alternate Take on the WoNY Prepare to Die Edition

I love it. Absolutely fucking love it. First time I upped to Heroic after beating Keener, I thought "what the actual fuck? FUck this, it's insanity." But two days of ***only*** playing Heroic unless I'm dropping in to help a friend clear something and I'm utterly in love with it. This is the Division I feel people were clamoring for, and we all need to take a collective breath as it hasn't been even a week and people are complaining about not bumrushing the highest difficulties.

Now, even with unoptimized gear, I welcome shotgunners as they'll be dead before even closing a quarter of the distance; named enemies go down in maybe a magazine or so of my primary (named M1A1 with Perfect Lucky shot doing around 522k) or my urban MDR with rifleman if they're closer. The game now feels alive and dangerous, as not watching yourself gets you smoked, and every encounter is literally life or death with mobs flanking and coming up on you from behind. Utterly exhilarating. It feels like some fucked up child of Dark Souls and the Division, and personally, I'm for it.

Again, it's been a week so we need to cool it, but I run a mainly firearms with 1 blue (600k armor) and maybe 2 yellows and now have no issues soloing. My only gripe is the missions now become a straight one shot, so any mistakes you make are punished extremely by having to restart, other than that, I feel they hit the right balance this time as in a month, once people have their gear optimized, I feel Heroic will be the standard difficulty for advanced players.
