Miss Dior Essence Review

Okay guys please bear with me as I’m relatively new to fragrances and collecting. I’ve rarely reviewed anything but a few of you requested one since I blind bought this perfume based on the notes. I am pleased to report, it is a keeper!! I was able to come test it in store so I did not have to risk opening the bottle I blind bought and not liking it.

Anyways, my review:

This opens up with a burst of jammy berries, as others have said. I think it is the elderberry that keeps it from opening sweet and juvenile though. This is a GROWN berry scent. And no, I don’t mean “grandma” (I don’t like that description but hear it used a lot). I just mean a grown woman. I’ve been learning that perfumes that open very fruity and playful (which I love) don’t always have the greatest lasting power. After the berries, I’m starting to get the jasmine and the woods are coming through pretty quickly in the dry down. I’m getting a hint of the “smoky” aspect but not overwhelming in any way (which I was worried about). I love woods but don’t generally like a burnt or “smoky” smell.

I have now been wearing this for an hour, including a walk to my car in the 100 degree heat and it is holding strong. I’m still getting berries, but also the white floral component and the woods. The sillage is impressive, I can smell my arm from about a foot away from my face.

I think this perfume is going to be absolutely stunning for the fall weather (if we ever get it here in southern Arizona 😅). It’s grown, fruity, juicy, woody, and floral and I’m in love. This is one I successfully blind bought but wouldn’t recommend blind buying as it is complex, not a simple fruity floral like some other crowd pleasers. It may be too strong to some, but I should let you know I generally am overwhelmed with strong perfumes and this one is making me very happy.
