Margos alarm clock has to be designed by the Devil

I'm rewatching the show and i'm at season 4 now, and i had forgotten just how horrible the noise from her alarm clock is. A constant blaring tone straight from the devil himself. Was anyone here alive in Russia at that time and could confirm that alarm clocks blared like that, or did Margo just go insane choosing that?

I'm having a blast rewatching the show in general, that little prop just really stood out to me haha
