The Misfire Gate of 2024

Hello there,

I have a 24 40th GLI. Love this car a lot. Thought hey, I'll put 91 in it and treat her right. Then I started getting the misfire codes. Checked with my OBD11 and saw it was during the startup/warm up of the car. Brought it to the dealership.

1st time... They put fuel treatment in and told me to use better gas. I was using Costco 91 in Kelowna BC Canada. They said to go with either Chevron or Shell.

2nd time... They do a compression test, check my plugs, coils and empty the gas tank check for debris. Everything checks out and they couldn't make the misfire happen.

3rd time... They check fuel pressure after the engine is shut off. They also order a new set of fuel injectors for me and install those. Then they day to go back to using 87 because the car isn't mapped for 91. Which doesn't make too mich sense to me.

It's been about 2 weeks though and I haven't had the misfire come back. I do want to try going back to 91 and see if it returns.
