Ahmed valve implant surgrey success in dogs? Please share your experience

Hey all, My baby (7 yr old maltipoo) unfortunately got diagnosed with glaucoma and Im scheduling a surgrey for her to have the Ahmed gonio implant placed in her eye to prevent further vision loss and pain

I'm very nervous about the surgrey and wanted to ask this group if anyone has had this surgrey done with one of their dogs. I haven't had much luck in the other subreddits so hoping to have folks share their experiences here. Wad the surgrey successful? How long did the results last?

Update 2026: I have 0 regrets about the surgrey. If anything I wish I would have done it sooner. Two years later..my baby has lost most of her vision but she's not in pain anymore. Along with the shunt in her eye works and daily eye drops we have kept the eye pressure low. Which makes me happy
