Panicking
Hi all,
U.S.-based and have insurance through marketplace
I've had my current insurance with help from the tax credits/subsidies for a year in Florida. Before that, I'd been using it every year in Indiana. The process isn't new to me and I'm 100% confident that I should start freaking out.
I currently use $400 in subsidies to help pay my premium making my monthly payment $125 a month. It's decent insurance. I have regular maintenance meds, see doctors and specialists on a regular basis (mostly for med check-ins and occasionally for tests). I'm finishing my application, looking at the plans, and my current one is no longer available. There is a similar plan that is more expensive for meds, drs visits, and outpatient mental health services. But the monthly premium is also WAY more expensive.
I went ahead and chose it anyway, thinking I would have the option for how much of the tax credits I'd like to use. And there's nothing. It just says I owe a flat $730 a month. No options for tax credits. The lowest price plan I can find is $300 a month and is real shitty.
I'm about to have a break down. What do I do? What is going on? I knew that there would be a little less in subsidies but none? My income hasn't changed at all. If anything, it's gotten worse.
Can someone please help me figure out what is happening?
