Should I hesitate to move into Act 2?

Simple question here and I think I can guess, but googling didn't turn up anything definitive. Does starting Act 2 change anything in the world state in a way that makes it harder to go back and get certain stuff, or is there any other reason I should turn back and really scour everything before jumping in? Thanks in advance.
