Exploring some myths
If Jews originate in Palestine - undoubtedly a Semite region for thousands of years - how come Ethiopian Jews look Ethiopian/African, Yemenite Jews look Yemenite, North African Jews look North African, Indian Jews look Indian, European Jews have fair skin, etc. Is Bar Refaeli semite? Is Tzipi Livni, Boozhi, Netnayahu, Michael Oren, Amos Oz? Obviously some myths are involved but even if supposedly there is a founding group from the Levant, if their genes have been diluted through intermarriage over the generations to say 1% of the total ethnic composition, why are we ignoring the 99% who never originated in Palestine? Can a white man claim he originated in Africa 50,000 years ago and thus has "rights to Africa"? Does one need a proof if he is going to claim "rights" and ownership based on ancient ancestry or having a big gun is good enough "proof"?
I know most people here probably grew up on Zionist mythology and some view it as justifying Israel's existence so there is going to be inherent bias in the comments. But try to ask yourself objectively, would you relinquish your home if someone came to you and claimed that he believes his ancestors lived there thousands of years ago? What if a group of people claiming to be descendants of Canaanites wanted to establish a Canaanite State in Israel's place? Would you support them?
