MMW: If the 2016 GOP presidential nominee is Carson, Fiorina, Kasich, Rubio or Trump, the VP pick will be US Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas).

Case: * Cornyn has good conservative credentials, and brings gravitas to Fiorina or Trump. * He has been respectably bi-partisan and establishment-leaning in the last couple of years, which brings Carson/Trump to the middle before the general election. * He's a white male which mollifies the closet racists who feel uncomfortable with a woman or black or Latino on top of the ticket. * As a former statewide official (TX atty general) plus US Senator, he's got the name recognition in Texas to convert GOP voters who were loyal to Bush or Cruz. (although admittedly the benefit of this is lessened in the event of a Rubio-Cornyn or Kasich-Cornyn ticket)
