Dissecting the Assassins/Space Ninjas
Before I begin, all images and sources for theorizing and differentiating either come from the Box Art or the Trailer for Metroid Ravenous.
There Appears to be 6 of these assassins, or space ninjas.
Let’s start with 1, who I will be refering to as Leaderman.
Leaderman is the assassin with the red cloak in Picture 1. He can be identified as the same person as the 4 eyed guy due to his shoulder armor, and his little belt thing and his eyes in the black and white shot. He also may be the guy in the impact frame at the end of the trailer, but I‘m not going to put money on it.
Number 2, I will be calling Fatman.
Fatman has a self explanatory name. He is the big, round guy on the left in the back of Picture 1. He appears to be wielding a mace or bludgeon of some sort. He has beads for some reason.
Number 3 I will be calling Bugboy.
He has a cybernetic, E.M.M.I like arm on the left arm, and a spiked shoulder guard on the right. He also possesses antennae, and has a blocky head. I think he may have a sword, and I think he is the other one attacking Samus that doesn’t stab her. He is also the ninja being drained by Samus on the Box Art cover. Due to his placement on the box art, I’m inclined to believe he will be the first Ninja Samus fights, essentially being a ’gimme’, not unlike the first E.M.M.I. He may have fallen down the hole with her, hence why we only see 5 ninjas looking down the hole. He is the Ninja we seem to see the most of in this trailer, getting the crap beat out of him.
Number 4 I will be calling Mr. London, because he stabs Samus.
While orginally, I thought Bugboy and Mr. London were the same, Mr. London has his E.M.M.I arm on the right arm, and it looks a lot closer to an E.M.M.I arm than the Bugboy’s does. I can’t tell if he has spiked shoulder armor on both sides, but he at least has it on his left shoulder.
The last two have the least trailer presence.
Number 5 is Floater for now. I think he is the tall ninja in the shadows in Picture 1. He is the guy floating in the back of the Ravenous Box Art.
Number 6 I will be calling Short Stack. He is the shortest one on the left in Picture 1, identified by shoulder guards. He seems to have an E.M.M.I. arm at least on the right side, he may also be Mr. London and I’m getting things all mixed up.
There may only be 5, and I’m just splitting one into 2. But there are 5 in the background of the box, plus 1 in the foreground that Samus is eating, so I think this analysis is fair. I can’t figure out who everyone is in every shot, but here is my rough outline. Shortstack also may just be Mr. London and the guy on the right front is our other guy that we don’t know about.
