Shadowbanned immediately after approving post

We just had a post in r/coins by a new user who disclosed that they are transgender and looking for other transgender folks to connect with. Within an hour of the post going live, the user now appears to be shadow banned. I think it was from mass downvotes and / or mass reporting.

Questions:

1. What can I do about this? I have already advised the user to appeal their shadowban. 2. Is there any way to prevent this from happening again? I obviously can’t identify the people who downvoted or reported the post.

Edit: okay, as I expected, the answer to my direct questions was that I can’t do anything. What am I supposed to do, then? Tell people “don’t be trans on r/coins?” That’s unacceptable.
