Why aren’t commercial airliners painted bright colors so they can be spotted easier if they crash in remote locations?
Why aren’t commercial airliners painted bright colors in case they crash in the snow covered mountains or in the ocean that way they can be spotted better? I was just watching Society of the Snow, which is excellent, by the way, and I thought if the plane had been painted bright orange or yellow or green or something, rescue teams maybe could have spotted it. (The movie is about the plane crash in the Andes back in the 70s.) I know their plane wasn’t a commercial airliner either, but anyway, is there a reason they aren’t painted bright colors and they are mostly painted white?
