Why does reddit refresh the page when I comment now?

I use old reddit on android Firefox.

When I leave a comment, it refreshes the page. I press submit and the page loads back at the top.

In the past it would just insert my comment in the thread but allow me to continue reading.

Why is this new behavior happening? Are others experiencing it?
