How do you release an indie animation pilot properly?

For the past year and a bit I've been planning out a series, it's still very much a work in progress however I'm almost done with my main character model (likely tomorrow if all goes well) and then I can get started on animation more or less. But that got me thinking since I'm in the planning stage I should probably figure out how to actually release it when done and not just have it be another video on YouTube.

So basically what do I have to do to take care of my project and treat it right with care. I've done YouTube regularly for a few years at this point but just stupid mini meme animations with nothing really of note. And if this doesn't belong here I'm really sorry
