Are there guides on where best to hold/take fights on each map?

I keep watching videos of people criticizing where low level players decide to hold on different maps, and of course it's always exactly where I and my teams try to hold. Are there any guides or general tips for best places to defend or rush on attack to hold a forward position? Thanks in advance for any tips.
