I just paid over $2500 for a gas water heater replacement, and I'm looking for reassurance that I didn't get taken for a ride.

Water heater retail price: $670

Additional parts include new gas line, new expansion tank, new drain pan, various fittings.

Installation was on the second floor in an accessible closet.

City permits were pulled, maybe ~$200

Do these numbers look right for that total?
