PSA: Soft Resetting Works Exactly the Same on Switch

For anyone wondering, you can soft reset your game by pressing A, B, +, and - at the same time. This works the same on GBA except we had Start and Select instead of + and -. No need to exit the game and restart if you need to grind for a specific starter or a shiny or whatever.

Edit: courtesy of u/moonknightcrawler you can also just press A,B,X,Y together, much easier!

Also you can press B to skip the recap after loading a save!

“Go to your Switch 2 Settings

System Settings > Accessibility > Button Mapping

Change X & Y buttons to either A or B and it should stop this from happening. Note that the setting will be tied to that controller; so you’ll need to revert it back when playing other games. Have fun!”
