Pokopia and Disabilities

Forgive me if this has been discussed on the sub before, but my partner and I are both in the endgame of Pokopia and the focus has shifted to raising the environment levels of each area now. One thing we really started to notice was the games focus on \*making the area comfortable and accesible for all Pokemon\* and I cant help but feel like this was an intentional way to help the audience understand disabilities and maybe do something about it.

Pokemon want nice paths to walk on because sometimes the rough ground hurts their feet. Some Pokemon need stairs to traverse. And the game makes it apparent that no matter what type of Pokemon, they \*want\* to be able to travel and meet up with other Pokemon. Coupled with some of the quirky personalities from different Pokemon throughout the game, I feel like its done a great job of introducing the concept of making environments more disability-accessible AND promotes positive interactions with neurodivergent people. This has been an incredible way to promote these ideas, especially for kids playing the game. Even as an adult its got me cleaning up my neighborhood more and thinking of ways I could promote accessibility in my own community.

Edit: how could I have forgotten my homie Peakychu? Their quest line was all about Peakychu's disability, helping them where we can but also understanding that they want discretion.
