About 2 years later...
[About 2 years ago I posted about an idea I had, and included a poll..](https://www.reddit.com/r/PowerShell/comments/gegri2/how_much_of_a_bad_idea_is_it_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
The outcome of that original idea has eventually resulted in a NoSQL-based solution and has been working flawlessly for us - and is still actively in use!
No. It was not easy. Yes. I made a lot of mistakes due to either lack of knowledge or simply being a stubborn knobhead.
I've learned a lot over the course of developing this idea and after reading through everyone's awesome suggestions again, now 2 years later, I can confirm; My original plan on doing this was very inefficient and indeed became a nightmare real quick.
Combining a lot of suggestions made by everyone who commented, together with everything I learned about PowerShell during the course of this project - has resulted in a solid, easy to use solution that requires very little upkeep and maintenance from myself.
*"It just, works!"* And I am very proud of it.
A bunch of my co-workers also made a lot of progress on learning PowerShell and are actively contributing to the project, as well as creating their own! 😊
Thank you very much to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts! It has been incredibly valuable to me, my team and our customers!
I guess, what I really wanted to say is...
whatever idea you have - on whatever skill level you are at that point - as long as you are willing to learn and make mistakes while doing so.. The end result will definitely be worth it.
