Water head and significant elevation drop.
If you wondered how head works when you source water high and drop it low; the downstream system will maintain the head of the source.
I ran water about 60 meters out of a pit(3 pumps), then down a hill, then down about a 100 meter cliff.
At the bottom of the cliff i put a giant stack of water tanks the height of the cliff(but not the hill).
The water was able to fill the entire stack about 100m worth of tanks from the bottom of the stack.

As an aside if you dont want a head that high. I also ran a test to see if i could limit the head. I put a 2nd tower next to the first and put a pump at the bottom. The pump would only let the water flow to ~22m in the tank stack.
So, a pump resets the head, it doesn't matter what happened before it, doesn't matter how high the source is.

This is all exactly how i was hoping things would work. Maintaining the head of the source, and being able to limit the head if necessary.
