I'm mad about how they handled Jonas

Howdy folks,

since stargate arrived at netflix germany a few months back I'm in my first rewatch since like 2005 and just started with season 7.

I however *have some thoughts* about season 6.

Jonas was protrayed wonderfully and had so much potential and the show just wasn't interested in him at all. And then he was just gone, never to return.

Jack never trusted him, he could never play out his strength of bein super intelligent and a fast learner, he never got to bring in his perspective from a different world but less advanced civilization, and he never got some real personal stories where his up-ness came into play too.

All of this could have been suuuuuuch a nice change of pace, so many great episodes that never were, and I'm just really mad. It feels more like Michael wanted to try something else, the producers and writers just wanted to keep going with the old formula and dynamics and never really wanted to try to really incorporate him into season 6. Then Shanks came back and he was just wirtten out in like three lines of dialogue.

I think Jonas as a character could have easily been as good as Sam, probably way better (since honestly Sam was not handled as well as I remember) and they just weren't interested.

Poor Corin Nemec, what a wonderful screen presence. I miss you you sweet boy.

E: apparently Corin sucks, but my point about Jonas (the Character) still stands.
