Pool closing - hotel pool an option?

I've seen it mentioned occasionally where someone has an arrangement at a local hotel to use the hotel pool for their regular lap swimming. For anyone who has done this, how have you gone about doing this? Does the hotel advertise this as an option, or did you have to approach management? How much do you pay?

For context, I got back into swimming recently and have been loving it. I swim at the local parks and rec pool. Yesterday I found out that the pool is closing for 2 weeks in August.

This is a problem for two reasons: 1. I live in the bumfuck of nowhere and the only other public pools are at least a 45min drive away (including gym and ymca pools), which is not very practical for me. 2. I've started a "Swim 5 Miles in August for Cancer" fundraiser through the ACS and have already raised some donations. I know this subreddit has a lot of very accomplished swimmers, but I struggle with chronic illness and have been averaging 450-900yds per swim. So reaching 5 miles was going to be a challenge for me anyway, and not a realistic goal with 2 weeks of pool access taken away.

My MIL recently visited and stayed at the local Hilton, which has a smallish, but nice and well-maintained pool. So I was wondering what my chances of being able to pay a fee to use the pool would be. If anyone has done this, would love to hear from you!
