What are the oddest encounters you've had with recruiters? Whether that be sketchy, unprofessional, racist or just plain weird.

For myself it happened what felt like a lifetime ago when I was first searching for ESL jobs.

I wanted to go back to Beijing where I'd lived for a year as a student and still had a network of friends and luckily enough I found an ad for a place that had cram schools there! The day of the interview I remember putting a suit and tie on, put my game face on and started a Wechat call with the recruiter.

He was in bed with a stained wife beater on.

Lad then began to lie about how finding work in Beijing as someone without experience was next to impossible and the best they could give me was 11k without any benefits and without even a work visa. Of course I ended up declining the offer and I felt like I'd just wasted 30 minutes of my time.
