An alternative approach to YPYT, teamwork edition

So the sub is a constant flood of people complaining about YPYT. Nearly every time, it starts off the same way: tank is single pulling, others in the group want to go faster, and they argue/grief each other for 15 minutes. I use a different way to handle it, hear me out on this.

I build up the tank. I treat them as a human being and don't just dismiss them as awful players/people. If I'm healing a single pulling tank that doesn't want to go faster? I tell him he's a brick house. A wall of impenetrable steel. I tell them that under no circumstances will he die because he is my teammate and i love them. I don't automatically treat them as my enemy for the audacity of being afraid to pull two groups.

This is how we make tanks better. Instead of telling them they're bad and threatening kicks and reports, we GIVE them the confidence to do it. We SHOW them they can do it, and maybe they won't leave that dungeon never wanting to tank again.

I know some people will say "I don't want to handhold these bads" and that's fine. You don't have to. However, if you're not going to, at least don't break them down either. The four people in the party are a team after all. It doesn't do anyone any good to just grief each other.
