(Loved design) Tank Chair MK. 9, from the Manga Tank Chair, and how it pays homage to the classic "black suit" trope
This is a form our main character, Nagi, takes on after a festering wound in his abdomen (which is also slowly killing him) begins to become detrimental to his performance in battle. To make up for this, he combines his mechanised wheelchair with the powers of his rival-turned-ally Naozumi, who is bonded to a semi-conscious octopus-like mollusk that already is reminiscent of Venom.
The reason I like the design so much is 1. Because it looks fucking sick, the tentacle/suction cup texture stretched over the character's arms and the chair's wheels gives it an incredibly striking, dynamic look, and 2. It's paying homage to the "black suit" trope that we find in a lot of comic books and superhero-inspired media, examples include Spider-Man (obviously), Captain America and Deku from MHA.
Ironically however, while Spider-Man's black suit signifies a low point for his character, this is the opposite. Nagi, who was previously a stoic, selfless character who tried to shoulder everyone's burden, is now finally mature enough to ask for help. Up until this point, he hid the fact that his wound was killing him from his friends and family. This moment signifies what I'm sure will be a turning point in Nagi's personality, for the better. He's no longer willing to throw his life away.
