It’s complicated because the kid, the user, and I all used to be in the same friend group for a while. I left the friendship with the user over them being 19 and e-dating a 15 year old (despite the user’s trauma from being 16 and dating a 20 year old), but it feels genuinely impossible to criticize or call out their behavior without them attempting suicide. (I sided with the kid when he asked me for help discussing things with a mod team, and the user attempted suicide over the resulting Discord server ban. I still blame myself since I knew this user had already attempted twice over previous bans. I was stupid and had hoped maybe this time they wouldn’t attempt.)
