Throw away or fix a backpack?

I have a perfectly fine composite pack that is a bit worn, but after 5 years duraflex buckles and fittings started breaking all at once, and slippage of the grosgrain increased by... A lot. Especially when it's cold.

Would spend 20$ and a couple of days to replace the fittings and buckles like for like, or just buy a new pack? It's discontinued and I cannot find anything like that anymore, probably the closest thing is Lundhags Padje Light, but nothing made in cutting edge fabrics.
