ULPT iPad works “still works”

I have a work iPad that I have had for six years that constantly freezes or malfunctions and the company I work for will not buy me a new one because it’s “still works”. The thing is they are more than willing to buy an iPad for an employee who leaves one on the roof of their vehicle and drives away and it gets destroyed. Is there a way where I can cause it to black screen of death without it looking like it was intentional?
