Anyone know any good places to explore near the McHenry county area (IL)

Anyone know any good places to explore near the McHenry county area (IL) i already tried to explore the abandoned Motorola plant but it isn't abandoned anymore and has security,i was thinking about exploring in certain areas of Detroit but i dont have a car yet so im stuck within county limits.
