Just moved back to Utah after living in the PNW and California for 10 years. Why do Utahns hate outsiders so much?

I'm a native Utahn so I feel like I have every right to come back to this state. With that said, I'm kind of embarrassed for all the Utahns who hate on me because I have California plates.

Do people not realize that the entire world is getting more expensive and more crowded? Why are Californians specifically getting singled out as the cause for Utah's problems?

Utah's major cities are bounded geographically by mountains and lakes plus there’s been an infusion of tech companies. Of course everything is going to get more expensive.

Everyone is a lot richer since I moved away. Everyone has water problems, not just Utah so I don't know why that should be an issue.

Also, more Californians voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 than any other state so it's not fair to lump 40 million people into the same political category.

I love Utah but I'm surprised by how folksy, homogenous, ignorant, and hyper-religious some people are which is a major turnoff. It’s making me rethink this whole move altogether.

Where are all the cool people!?
