Headunits idoing vs alternative

I'm looking into the Idoing that everyone seems to rave about, but there seems to be a lot of frustration surrounding the microphone input.

Has anyone found a resolution to this? Alternatively I'm considering the extra money for a Sony AX4000 or open to other suggestions.

I'd definitely like an improvement in audio quality but my biggest driver has been the android auto issues I've encountered the past 5 years.
