How does the operator get to the battlefield?

Like okay, void sling definitely doesn’t reach that far, & they can’t just teleport anywhere because why then would they have an orbiter. So how do they reach the battlefield when you use them? We know this isn’t just a mechanic since it happens in cutscenes, so how?
