Perhaps "Inter-dimensional" aliens really aren't, but their travel method makes it seem so
As more of the latest interesting stuff on UFOs comes out, it seems like we're bending towards aliens not really coming *thru space* from other faraway planets, but actually existing in a nearby dimension from which they pop into our own. To me, can we even call thesr "aliens?" Obviously yes but I understand that if this the case then religious descriptions might not be as far off as initially thought. But I don't think they are from other dimensions.
Travel method: Being that personally I find actual space travel more titillating as a sci-fi lover, it's occurred to me that these things might really just be using dimension hopping as a *travel method* rather than it being a location of origin. Perhaps the "traditional" concepts of faster-than-light travel really are technologically unfeasible, wormholes too, but advanced enough civilizations may have found this "dimension hopping" to be the solution to extreme distance travel. I also wonder if it might be challenging to actually "pop out" back into the right dimension once you "arrive!".
Dimensional re-calibration: Perhaps once a "flight crew" determines it is time to pop back out into real-space, it is actually an extremely fine-tuned prices that can easily leave the craft and crew in just slightly off dimensions instead of the exact one they planned on going to, leading to issues such as crew being stranded or different pieces of the ship inhabiting different dimensions simultaneously! Perhaps some of the UFOs we see are actually the ship drives powering a larger craft on a dimension juuuuust next door, with the crew saying "Shit shit shit ZARLAK THE LEFT ENGINE IS IN DIMENSION 23 GET IT BACK NOW".
Varying expertise of civilizations: Perhaps different civilizations are better at it than others- the best ones smooth and consistently re-tuning every atom in their craft's local "field" (or whatever) perfectly to their destination dimension - excellently engineered instrumentation seamlessly bringing people across the galaxy with nary a bump or a rattle. Alternatively, perhaps this is EXTREMELY difficult, and some aliens are doing their best but crash relatively much more often as they accidentally only pop 98% of their engine into the correct dimension, but that one "piston" is floating somewhere in the neon-jellyfish dimension - and that brings the whole thing right on down. Perhaps if the dimensions are close enough, machines can continue to work to some degree - perhaps they don't even know when they're accidentally spread across more than one dimension! Perhaps the "jellyfish" video is actually a low level engineer operating the windshield wipers for a football field sized craft (fully concealed in a very nearby dimension, completely visible to him) and has no clue that from our own viewpoint he looks like he's just a dude floating along a highly monitored military installation like a doofus.
I feel like aliens coming from other planets is way cooler than actually coming from other realms entirely, but that's just me.
Dumb post, first post, just having fun with it. Happy Wednesday!
