CMV: Fucktard is a perfectly good substitute for retard and shouldn't offend anyone

I have no qualms with the word retard becoming taboo. I want to insult people who deserve it, not people with cognitive disabilities.

But this means we need a different scathing epithet for stupid people.

There are plenty of contenders: stupid, idiot, dumbass, etc. But they don't pack enough venom. Like hitting someone with a pillow when they deserve to be hit with a baseball bat.

Fucktard, I believe, is our best option.

It packs much more venom than words like stupid, and it doesn't have a history of being wielded to demean people with cognitive disabilities. Win-win.

Unfortunately, some people seem to believe fucktard should be off limits, too, since it sounds close to retard.

I contend fucktard is far enough from retard that it should be considered edgy, but acceptable. In fact, any insult *must* be edgy to inflict significant pain. People with cognitive disabilities don't deserve scorn, but there are plenty of blithering fucktards who do. We deserve a word that gives them as much scorn as possible.

However, I hold this view loosely, so I invite you to change it.
