Making a multi-colored iron-on

I understand that I am probably doing this to myself, but I have been wanting to do this design for ages. (I have only had my cricut for maybe 6 months) I just got all of the colors and have everything in design space but it won’t tell me which color I have to cut first, just that I have 9 mats in the process. I have only done single-color projects up to this point and I’m just looking to see if anyone knows what to do!
