I successfully made General Tso’s Chicken!

I made it several days ago and ate leftover for a few days. Sorry, no pictures because I didn’t think to take any.

One of the hardest things for me to adjust to is that my favorite dishes I would get at Chinese restaurants have gluten.

General Tso’s has always been one of my favorites. I am an adequate cook. I wouldn’t call myself a good cook, but there are a few things I can make that are pretty good, courtesy of learning with my grandmother, who was very much a meat and potatoes comfort food cook.

I used this recipe

I used King Arthur’s Measure for Measure gluten free flour. I didn’t have red pepper flakes so I used chili pepper. I felt like such a doofus for not remembering the buy some.. It wasn’t the same without it but it was still good. The only thing I had problems was frying it with the amount of oil recommended so I gave up and just deep fried it. I figured I wouldn’t do a good job but it actually turned out well! Now to learn how to make Mongolian Beef.

I suspect my adequate cooking skills will improve because I decided I have to get more adventurous as there are many things that I miss.
