Baptism by fire - suds & overall check
Hello! New to this thread as I have hyperfixated on laundry as a new mom with a 3 week old baby. This thread and wealth of knowledge has helped to keep my awake during those 2,3, and 4 am feedings so thanks for keeping me company and educating me on how horribly I’ve been doing laundry all my life. After hours of research here’s where I’ve landed.
# For context
We have hard water about 231 PPM.
# Now into the adopted routine:
\- I’m using tide free and gentle liquid (just under the “3” line on the cap)
\- 1 scoop of FEBU in the drum
\- Downy Rinse (opted for this instead of straight citric acid for fear of my clothes smelling like sulfur due to the hard water IDK. Just saw some posts about that) I place this in the water softener spot on my drawer. I fill it to just over half. **The slot is small - do I need to fill to the MAX line? I’ll include a picture. I want to make sure I’m dosing this correctly.**
\- I fill the drum with clothes just over 50%. Enough to where I can fit my fist in the top without touching clothes and wash drum. I wash with warm /warm setting on my washer, normal, and select extra rinse and high spin.
**Now here’s the deal about 5-10 minutes in this is what my suds looked like. Is this correct or do I need more detergent?**
Also can FEBU and downy rinse be used on baby clothes and laundry? Opinions or thoughts on that front?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! Sincerely a tired new mom who wants clean clothes
