Anti-doom: Act 4 and Kaz NM are balanced well.
I felt like highlighting something that me and my friends have agreed on with the two newest raids - the NM versions are balanced to a good level and work well as training wheel modes for their respective HM versions.
A lot of this is really due to the simplistic nature of the timed and hp-bar mechs, but another big one is how many normal patterns are assisted with visual red/yellow ground markers that do not appear in HM. This goes a long way to assisting the learning process for when people eventually graduate to HM.
Older NM raids were often still far too hard for the average player of the time for mechanical reasons and the prevalence of raid one-shots on failure. I and many other people were vocal proponents of a third, even easier raid difficulty akin to WoWs LFR or FFXIVs Normal raids, but nowadays with this newer, easier design, revives as well as solo mode I no longer see this as necessary.
To anyone thinking it all seems pointless, remember that MMOs need avenues for new and/or bad players to keep playing and progressing - having easy entry level raids benefits everyone.
Rewards for NM still leave a lot to be desired, though. I remember back with Akkan when they made no difference between NM and HM besides material quantity, and I wish they would return to this mindset.
