Missouri is one of 12 states still banning car sales on Sunday. How can we change this?
I was wondering why all car dealerships seemed to be closed on Sundays, losing a prime day when people don't have work and actually have time to shop for cars. It turns out it is because of an archaic religious law that bans car dealers from being opened on Sunday to observe the Sabbath.

We are still being inconvenienced by this ridiculous law from the 1800's in year 2023. It boggles the mind. It is really difficult to try to visit car dealerships during the work day, and then you only have one day on the weekend for everyone to buy their cars. During the non DST months, it gets dark by 4:30pm making evening shopping during the week similarly impractical.
So what can be done? I know the MO legislature is pretty useless, but don't they want to help businesses make more money in MO and not have the government telling them what days they can be open? Or is there a group who can fund a petition drive to get this on the next ballot?
Edit: Alright, in a surprising turn it seems r/Missouri is in favor of old far-right theocratic laws. Nevermind then.
Edit 2: This edit is way too late, but to clarify removing this law does not mean employees have to work more hours than they currently do. A business can be open on Sunday while all employees still have good work life balance and a schedule that works for them.
