Mayoral Powers in SF

Is there a guide somewhere that we can learn and educate others in what kind of Executive Powers the Mayor in SF has?

From GrowSF’s info on Peskin they say that:

San Francisco doesn't have an executive that is allowed to execute, instead it's rule-by-committee, and those committees are controlled by the Board.

Which means the Mayor can’t do things like:

The Mayor can't hire the Police Chief

Can't direct land use and zoning

Has no control of the MTA or Public Works, and has no recourse against a DPW director that can't keep streets clean, etc etc etc.

So we need our electorate to understand what can the Mayor do and what does our Board of Supervisors do.

Edit/disclaimer: im not trying for this to be a Breed thread, because she could lose the election so whatever.

I’m just saying sure we can change our shoes after stepping in shit, but if we dont pick up the shit we are stepping in, what does it matter if we change our shoes?
