QT jumping
So I'm wondering...
'*Traveling through hyperspace isn't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?' - Han Solo*
It might be interesting to be able to QT with manual calculations. I'm not talking advanced mathematics here, just being able to pick an xyz in your starmap and travel to it without the assistance of the navicomputer. The reason this has occurred to me is firstly you often don't get close enough after a jump and it would help reduce the time taken travelling from re-entry to wherever you're going. Secondly it would be useful to make snap calculations, perhaps in an emergency or sticky situation, a la the above quote.
Ultimately it's just about additional gameplay interactivity and not much else. Don't get me wrong - the navicomputer calculating and managing QT is great and essential but this could be a feature you could toggle depending on your immersion demands, or maybe it's a part of advanced/hard mode settings for the more experienced spacers.
Of course I don't expect this sort of implementation any time soon, just spitballing.
