Mildly warm take: Peridot deserved more aura.

I know you all love cutesy patootsie Peridot, but I honestly think she was way more interesting as a villain and in that dream episode. I really liked her more.

Someone else did make a post on how Peridot was more interesting as a villain. I definitely agree with that, but I also want to add that I wish *that* Peridot was better translated when she got captured and then redeemed, rather than transform into what is basically an entirely different character and hard to believe is even the same person to someone who doesn't have the context. She had far more potential beyond being the comedic relief character. The more I think about it, the more I believe not having the show get cancelled wouldn't have really changed anything for her, unless there was a really big subplot for her that just didn't make the light of day.
