Question on downshifting from 6th to 5th.

I could use some help on this one.

Let’s say I’m going 90mph and in 6th. When I let off and cruise around 80mph my RPM is a little less than 2,000. Do I downshift then (with intentions to stay at 80) or wait until I need the power to speed up again.
